Rotherham Freecycle is a friendly local community where people give away unwanted items completely free of charge. From furniture, tools and electrical items to toys, books, clothing and household goods, thousands of items are saved from landfill every day thanks to members like you.

What is Freecycle?

Freecycle is a worldwide, volunteer-run, non-profit movement dedicated to keeping useful items out of landfill.

With 12,139,459 members across 5,333 local groups, Freecycle helps millions of people pass on items they no longer need and find things they can put to good use.

There are no fees, no subscriptions and no catches.

If it's legal and you're giving it away for free, it probably belongs on Freecycle.

How It Works

Post an OFFER describing the item and, if possible, include clear photographs.

WANTED

Looking for something specific?

Post a WANTED message and see if another member can help.

TAKEN

Once an item has found a new home, mark it as TAKEN so members know it is no longer available.

Community Rules

To keep Freecycle safe and enjoyable for everyone:

✅ Everything must be 100% FREE
✅ All items must be legal to give away
✅ Treat fellow members with courtesy and respect
✅ Arrange collections safely and sensibly
✅ Mark items as TAKEN when collected
✅ Keep posts family-friendly and suitable for all ages

❌ No requests for payment, deposits or delivery fees
❌ No commercial advertising or business promotions
