Hi
We recently had a spam member join who sent out e-mails asking for you to click on a link to verify payment.
We will NEVER ask for money, NEVER ask for your passwords, NEVER ask you to verify your details unless it is from an official e-mail address, which would end in freecycle.org. Even then, please check with moderators first as e-mail addresses can be spoofed.
Please be aware that if anyone messages you with a link in their message, do not click on it, do not visit it and in no circumstances fill out any forms.
Also, if anyone offers you something but says they have moved or similar and just need some money to be sent for a courier who they know in some capacity, this is a scam. They will ask for payment using some method where it is not refundable, so please, never send any money to anyone for any item offered on Freecycle [ or similar sites]
