We are sorry to report that someone has joined Freecycle with malicious intent and is asking people to update their bank details by clicking on a link in the message they send you.
They are contacting people with open posts. Please ignore their message and contact the moderator team and let us have their username. This is unfortunately not specific to Stockport Freecycle. They have joined multiple groups around the world.
Please note all items on Freecycle must be offered for free and there should never be a charge. Freecycle is run by volunteers and nobody from Freecycle will ever need your bank details.
If you receive this message in your Freecycle inbox, please ignore the scammer and contact the moderator team.
