Breach of member data

On 30th August we became aware of a data breach on Freecycle.org. As a result we are advising all members to change their passwords as soon as possible. If you use the same password on other accounts you should change those too. We very much apologise for the inconvenience. The breach includes usernames, user IDs, email addresses and hashed passwords. 
ypu may notice you are receiving more spam than usual - remain vigilant of phishing emails and avoid clicking on links or attached documents in emails unless you are certain they are legitimate.
