Simple courtesy regarding collecting gifted items

Dear Freecycle Members,

I hope this message finds you well.

We are fortunate to be part of a community where we can freely exchange items, helping each other and the environment by reducing waste. However, we've recently received some concerns regarding collection arrangements.

It has come to our attention that there have been instances where members have arranged to collect items and then failed to show up without notifying the donor. This can be frustrating and inconvenient for the person who has generously offered the item.

As a reminder, here are a few guidelines to ensure a smooth and respectful exchange process:

Commitment: If you arrange to collect an item, please ensure you follow through with your commitment. The donor is relying on you to pick up the item as agreed.

Communication: If you are unable to collect the item at the arranged time, please inform the donor as soon as possible. Clear and timely communication can help avoid any inconvenience.

Punctuality: Try to be on time for your arranged pick-up. If you are running late, a quick message to the donor can go a long way in maintaining good relations.

Courtesy: Remember that the donor is offering their items for free, often as an act of generosity. A little courtesy and respect can help maintain the positive spirit of our community.

By adhering to these simple guidelines, we can ensure that Freecycle remains a supportive and efficient community for everyone involved.

Thank you for your cooperation and for being a valued member of Freecycle.

Best regards,

Clare Lead Mod for Monmouth
