On August 30th we became aware of a data breach on Freecycle.org. As a result, we are advising all members to change their passwords as soon as possible. The way we are doing this is via a notification at the top of www.freecycle.org with a link to a page with further info and this notice that should go out to all members. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your assistance in this regard. Again, Freecycle is so sorry about this. We are not sure how it happened or why someone would want to hack our Website but if you use your password for other sites, you may also want to change it for those too. Thank you again for being a valued member of our Freecycle Community.
