I received this from another Freecycler who used it for knee surgery recovery. I did not end up using it for a different surgery but I hope to get it to someone who can use it. The white "Multi-Use Pad" does REQUIRE a "dressing" layer between it and your skin for protection from too much cold! I have read that you can either use a clean T-shirt / dish towel as a layer OR purchase a "dressing" layer from Breg.  Notice that the complete set of directions are folded up into a plastic pouch adhered to the outside of the Breg Cube. One photo shows the electrical cord and some rolled up Breg velcro straps for placing the Multi-Use Pad where you need it.
