It does work very well to melt ice and snow, but I think it is maybe meant for a step, since the power cord sticks out of the top of the 60 inch edge.  I ended up getting a different size and never ended up returning this seasonal item.  I have it rolled correctly so the ends will not flip upwards, like in my pictures. Has velcro ties to secure it and perfect for storage.
