When I bought my house 25 years ago, this contraption was used to suck hot air from the wood stove out of the den (bottom floor of raised ranch) and shoot it through a conduit to the far side of the house. I applaud the resourcefulness of the homeowner that installed this, but after some water damage inspired home renovation, I'm not putting it back in place as I'm taking a simpler approach.
The fan is belt-driven and is super quiet. It needs a good cleaning, but otherwise it's in excellent condition. If I had a use for it, I'd keep it.
Air is drawn in from the sides. The pulley wheel spins, drawing the air in pushing it out through the square opening. The opening is 13" x 11.5". It's also lighter than it looks.
I'm hoping someone out there wants it. I'd hate to have to just haul it away for scrap.
