Hey so i am looking for id anyone has some leftover in used glucose test strips for either a freestyle lite or true metrix glucose monitors.... For the past several years the freestyle lite glucose meter was my backup for when my skin is giving me problems and I can't wear my dexcom g7 cgm but also For the past year the dexcom G7 cgm sensors have also been problematic in that ever since the company altered the manufacturing they have not been as reliable and are no longer consistently accurate enough to use to calculate insulin doses when I need it , so if the dexcom g7 says I need insulin I HAVE to also do a finger stick glucose test to make sure of what amount of insulin I should be taking or if I should be taking any at all..... HOWEVER medicare has now decided that they won't cover the test strips for verifying glucose levels if you have a dexcom g7 type cgm because Medicare doesn't want to cover both.. I tried ordering off of the $35Amazon listing for freestyle lite test strips but the box I received of freestyle lite test strips was literally already expired and anywhere else the lowest price I've found is $151 for a box of 100 freestyle lite test strips. I did find a deal on a true metrix glucose meter on Amazon that came with a few test strips but depending on how often I need to potentially figure out what dose of insulin I might need those could get used up pretty quickly.... My endocrinologist and I have already discussed trying to get me switched to a more reliable cgm BUT we have to get the Medicare/Medicaid prior authorizations through first which could take a few months. So here I am asking if anyone might have leftover test strips they could spare?
