Good day. I am faced with a problem a number of folks in my generation are. attempting to preserve artifacts of their predecessors history but dont have the space.
Storytime. My stepfather worked behind the Green Door as an advanced systems engineer. Worked on projects such as the Hubble telescope. He built this incredible workbench for his workspace there, and I just dont have the room nor hobby projects to do it any justice as most of my projects are technical and electronics focused, both of which are difficult to successfully manage in a dusty central valley garage.
I would like to see it go to a good home. It is solid wood, very heavy, easily slap a transmission on it and rebuild it and it won't cause you any problems. 10 drawers. a multitude of sliding tool storage. tons of industrial power ports. another 8 port industrial power strip not shown included. it will absolutely require a trailer. you dont want to lift this into a truck. id gage it 800 pounds at least. absolutely free. bring 4 quality floor dollys. my son and I will help you load it. its made to last. no one's ever sold or built anything like this and gotten rid of it.
He is also retired and moved to Phoenix but this had no home. I've held it for 6 years but it needs a home that actually can use it to its potential. if interested im available for pickup any days except monday and Friday.
Nothing on the workbench is included but ill make sure its emptied and we'll cleaned up for you! no dust or webs just ready to use.
If you want to preserve a piece that absolutely should be a part of American history, dont hesitate to reach out.
