For a person that has the ability to tinker as the radio hit the floor and suddenly the am side won't work. The fm side is working but when switched to am, no audio. So I suspect the switch was jarred and if you can repair it, it's a good radio which is not the case nowadays for the most part. The fm antenna is broken which can also be replaced. It can be plugged into an outlet or played with a 9 volt battery. This has integrated circuits with a decent sized speaker. Attached is a photo of the radio internals and the am/fm switch is easily seen to the right of the speaker. If you can unsolder the switch and replace it then the am section should work.
