Mom just got beat so severely that she will need reconstructive surgery to repair her face and the teeth he knocked out and he locked all her accounts. He threw out her clothes, makeup, hair and women bathroom supplies, shoes, and basically everything else she had that she needed to maintain an ounce of her dignity.
