Telluride is now hooked into an Internet-based network called The Freecycle Network, which allows people to post items they would like to give away — or that they are seeking — and coordinate all the details of the swapping online.

“Basically it’s an online Free Box,” said Sustainability Coordinator Kris Holstrom.

This project is one of the first being undertaken by New Community Coalition, the fledgling governing board of Holstrom, who was hired as Sustainability Coordinator in January.
